Snow
At 24 years old, Josie is checking off items on her bucket list: Joining a wilderness experience group seemed like the perfect place to begin. A night at basecamp, followed by a challenging, 3-hour trek to a sheltered checkpoint. The group would then be picked up by snowmobile and whisked off to a beautiful chalet for the weekend. It all sounded like an exciting adventure--until a brutal snowstorm hit without notice.
Separated from her group, Josie makes it to an abandoned trapper’s cabin. There, she meets another traveler. He also appears lost, but his demeanor is odd. He has no winter clothing, and no supplies. His only memories are of protecting a group from someone, or something.
Over the next few days, other random hikers stumble into the cabin, only to leave just as abruptly. One disappears during the night, another after he steps outside, and a third as he leaves to flag down what he claims is a snowmobile. Josie begins to panic, but the lone traveler seems unconcerned, focusing instead on Josie's dwindling food supply.
Josie must face the bleak possibility she may not be rescued...and that the lone traveler is not what he seems.
